From the beginning, God set apart the seventh day as a day of rest and holiness. The Sabbath is more than just a commandment—it is a perpetual sign between God and His people, reminding us of Creation and pointing forward to eternal rest in Christ.
Exodus 20:11 says:
“For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.”
In a world where the foundations are being destroyed (Psalm 11:3), and where many walk in new ways, God calls His people back to the old paths (Jeremiah 6:16).
Like Nehemiah rebuilding the broken walls of Jerusalem, we too are called to repair the breach in God’s law.
The Sabbath is not a burden—it is a blessing. It points us to God as our Creator, our Redeemer, and our Restorer.
Will you stand in the old paths and honor the Sabbath of the Lord?
